Asics 2160
With over 224 billion in revenue as of march 2010, the Asics entity speaks for itself and the GT2160 is yet another elite addition to their acclaimed line up. Commemorated many times over as being one of the best sellers in the industry, the 2000 series is definitely worth a second look! The asics 2160 is an ideal fit for the running enthusiasts that tend to pronate, thanks to the trademark DUOMAX support system embedded in the arch of the footwear.
Being slightly lighter than its predecessor, the 2160 is designed with gel in the fore and rear foot to render a superior running experience. The grooves on the outskirts increase flexibility that allows the runner to transition from heel to toe seamlessly. Unlike its predecessor, the GT 2160 facilitates a cushioned ride and with its patented Impact Guidance System, running just doesn’t seem like a tedious activity anymore!
As an ingenious solution to the threats posed by tarmac, concrete and roads, the Asics 2160 is cemented with added cushioning through the midsoles that not only enhances shock absorption, but also acts as a shield towards unexpected injuries, which includes shin splints.
This extra cushioning is also one of the most intriguing aspects of the 2160 since it diminishes sole deformation by a number of years, giving you more bang for your buck! If you’re habituated to training over long periods or simply in hot conditions, then the onboard ComfortDry Sock Liner will ensure that your foot is cold and dry at all times. This liner is now a standard insert in all Asics trainers and works miracles towards blisters and numerous other foot ailments.
Women’s Asics 2160 are available in white and electric blue, while the men’s line in white, blue, black and white, red, black. The characteristic that is common to both is the patented spider web design on the exterior and a mesh on the interior.

Another user of 257lbs claims that after using the 2150 for 350 miles +, the 2160 is just as comfortable and recommends it for those that run often. What we gather from the 12 or so reviews at Amazon is that the Asics 2160 is a great choice for running and the only flaw according to one review was that the laces came undone despite the double knots, but that may just be a skill issue! If you’re looking for a shoe that will last a few hundred miles, then the Asics 2160 is a great choice!
